Kampot is a city located in southern Cambodia near the Preaek Tuek Chhu River. The area is especially famous for its pepper plantations and salt fields, but there are also many buildings dating back to the colonial period still standing, like the Governor’s Mansion which has now been turned into Kampot Museum displaying information and artefacts on the city’s history.

To the west of Kampot laysPreah Monivong Bokor National Park – a cooler climate zone with plenty of forests, waterfalls and diverse wildlife including gibbons and big cats.
